Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The connection between the provinces of Nampula and Niassa via National Road Number 13 (N13) has been re-established, albeit on a restricted basis, even as the National Roads Administration (ANE) has teams on the ground to repair the section damaged by constant rain in the region.<\/p>\n

The news was provided this Sunday by ANE Nampula delegate Mateus Espi\u0301rito Santo, moments after a monitoring visit to the section in question.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe circulation of vehicles was, in fact, never completely interrupted, but now it is more fluid, although subject to conditions, because there is a lot of water on the roadway, and that gets in the way. However, we have equipment on site to help cars that get into difficulty, since the rain continues to fall,\u201d said Santo, quoted by AIM.<\/p>\n

The section in question is about 10 kilometres from the municipal town of Malema (Nampula province), heading towards Cuamba in Niassa. The situation arises as a result of incomplete asphalting of that section of the N13.<\/p>\n

The N13 is vital for the movement of people and goods, for the north and hinterland countries such as Malawi.<\/p>\n

Circulation on the 80 kilometre stretch between Ribaue and Lalaua districts, between Liupo and Mogincual and between the main town of Mecuburi and Namina administrative post is also restricted.<\/p>\n
