Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The government is evaluating proposals presented by port companies in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) which intend to invest in the port of Nacala.<\/p>\n

This information was shared by President Nyusi this Tuesday at a press conference that marked the end of his working visit to the UAE.<\/p>\n

Filipe Nyusi said that the Port of Nacala offers numerous advantages due to its characteristics and location.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Port of Nacala is now undergoing total rehabilitation. It will be a modern port in Southern Africa, a port with naturally deep water and therefore attractive, so they presented the proposal. The Ministry of Transport and Communications is evaluating it, because it is not the only proposal. So there is an evaluation but they can do other things, related to the Nacala corridor, but everything stems from the port activity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The president added that there were also airlines from the UAE showing interest in operating in Mozambique.<\/p>\n

Filipe Nyusi made a positive assessment of his visit to the UAE, as having allowed him to follow up on the cooperation proposals presented during his last visit there in October, 2022.<\/p>\n
