Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Holders of prospecting and research licenses and mining concessions are required to pay surface and production taxes, as well as submitting annual activity reports, by February 28th, under penalty of immediate revocation of mining titles.<\/p>\n

The information is contained in a notice issued a few days ago by the National Institute of Mines (INAMI). The institution notes that this exhortation is based on the Mining Law Regulation approved by Decree No. 31\/2015 of 31 December.<\/p>\n

\u201cArticle 130(2)(a) of the Mining Law Regulation provides that the mining holder who fails to pay taxes on the surface and on production, after 90 days from the date on which the taxes are due, plus the legally established default interest, incurs the immediate revocation of the mining title,\u201d the INAMI notice issued a few days ago and seen by \u2018Carta\u2019 reads.<\/p>\n

The INAMI therefore urges all holders of prospecting and research licenses and mining concessions to present proof of submission of reports and taxes within the established period.<\/p>\n

The institution warns that, at the end of the established period, the revocation of mining titles will be expedited.<\/p>\n
