Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Islamist terrorists have boasted of killing members of the peasant militia known as \u201cNaparamas\u201d, whom they describe as \u201csorcerers\u201d attempting to block the spread of Islam, reports Wednesday\u2019s issue of the independent newssheet \u201cMediafax\u201d.<\/p>\n

The jihadists clashed with naparamas on 29 January in Ibo village, in Meluco district, in the northern province of Cabo Delgado. They taped a video, subsequently uploaded to social media, showing \u201cmany bodies\u201d which they claimed were naparamas killed in the clash.<\/p>\n

The video justified killing naparamas on the grounds that this militia is \u201ca group of sorcerers\u201d who want to halt the advance of the Islamic religion. They have therefore been sentenced to death so that nothing can stop \u201cthe order of Allah\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnless they repent, we are going to kill them to show that they are nothing in the face of orders from Allah\u201d, the video threatens.<\/p>\n

Alongside the bodies of the supposed naparamas, the video shows two hooded men holding machine-guns, and the black flag of the self-styled \u201cIslamic State\u201d.<\/p>\n

At least 14 naparamas are believed to have died in the 29 January clash. Four terrorists were also killed.<\/p>\n

A second video showed terrorists interviewing a captured napharama who spoke of the rituals used by the group, which are supposed to make them invulnerable to bullets.<\/p>\n

Reports circulating on Tuesday indicated that terrorists have sabotaged the bridge over the Messalo river, linking Mueda and Montepuez districts. The bridge was damaged, but light vehicles were still able to use it.<\/p>\n

\u201cMediafax\u201d reports that transport operators who run buses between the provincial capital, Pemba, Montepuez and Mueda, have decided to suspend their activities, because of an increase in terrorist raids.<\/p>\n
