Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) this Friday afternoon arrested an individual of Angolan nationality at Maputo International Airport, as he was arriving from Brazil with 7.9 kilograms of cocaine.<\/p>\n

According to SERNIC\u2019s spokesman, Hila\u0301rio Lole, in Maputo, the detainee revealed that he had travelled to Brazil, on the 6th of January, to visit family members and intended to make a tourist stopover in Maputo.<\/p>\n

Already at the airport, the man raised suspicions when he abandoned one of his suitcases, , upon realizing the presence of police and airport inspection authorities.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the search, it was found that there were around 17 packets of coffee inside the luggage. From the meticulous work carried out, it was confirmed that the packages contained a white powder whose preliminary examination was positive for cocaine, \u201dsaid Lole.<\/p>\n

He added that the suspect would have received a message with instructions on the destination of the narcotics and, based on the data, SERNIC will work in coordination with other police specialties for clarification.<\/p>\n
