Africa-Press<\/a> – Mozambique<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Mozambique\u2019s minister of interior, Amade Miquidade, on Monday urged the country\u2019s police forces to earn the trust of society with a view to building an effective relationship with the public in order better to combat crime.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe citizens should look at us and be sure that they can rely on the forces of law and order for their peace,\u201d said Miquidade at a meeting with representatives of several branches of the Mozambican Republic Police (PRM) in Tete province, in the centre of the country.<\/p>\n

In their actions, he said, police forces should be guided by legality, ethics and deontology, so as to transmit a sense of safety to society.<\/p>\n

\u201cPatriotism and responsibility are fundamental if citizens are to feel that they can count on an honest police force,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Without a relationship of trust, he stressed, the police will not have the citizens on their side.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
