Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Mozambican Assembly of the Republic (Parliament Speaker) , Esperanc\u0327a Bias, today starts a three-day visit to Russia, at the invitation of her counterpart, Valentina Matvienko, the Mozambican parliament announced in a statement, reproduced below.<\/p>\n

Parliamentary Speaker, Esperanc\u0327a Laurinda Francisco Nhiuane Bias, arrived this Monday (April 24) in Moscow, Russia, for an official visit at the invitation of her counterpart, Valentina Matvienko. Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n

Upon their arrival, Esperanc\u0327a Bias and her delegation were received by the Ambassador of the Republic of Mozambique to the Russian Federation, Jose\u0301 Mateus Katupha, with whom she then held a working meeting.<\/p>\n

This meeting was attended by the heads of the parliamentary groups of Frelimo, Renamo and MDM, Se\u0301rgio Pantie, Viana da Silva Magalha\u0303es and Lutero Simango respectively, and by member of the Permanent Commission of the Assembly of the Republic, Deputy Ana Rita Sithole.<\/p>\n

At the meeting, Esperanc\u0327a Bias explained that this visit aims, among several aspects, to deepen existing cooperation relations between the two peoples and parliaments, as well as to sensitize the Russian business community to investment opportunities in Mozambique.<\/p>\n

During her stay in Moscow, the Esperanc\u0327a Bias will address the 544th Plenary Session of the Federation Council , the upper chamber of the Federal Assembly, the Russian parliament.<\/p>\n

Mozambique\u2019s Parliament Speaker will also hold meetings with the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, and with Federation Council Chairperson Valentina Matvienko.<\/p>\n

Also during her official visit to the Russian Federation, the Esperanc\u0327a Bias will meet members of the Mozambican community in Moscow and visit some of the country\u2019s historical sites.<\/p>\n
