Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>On Tuesday, 18 April 2023, Sasol in Mozambique kick started the phased programme of funding entrepreneurs from the Districts of Inhassoro and Govuro, in Inhambane Province.<\/p>\n

Until June this year, Sasol will provide financial support to 150 business initiatives, and the first 20 beneficiaries received funding last week in a ceremony led by the Administrator of Inhassoro, Dulce Canhemba.<\/p>\n

This project is part of the Local Development Agreements (LDAs), which in the Entrepreneurship subcomponent, is training 500 young people in Business Management. Of the total number of young people being trained, 250 are benefiting from mentoring and technical assistance, and the 150 best business plans will receive financial support to create or expand their businesses.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the funds I received I will increase the production of chickens to supply the Inhassoro district and surrounding districts,\u201d said Carolina Marcos, beneficiary of the programme.<\/p>\n

Dulce Canhemba acknowledged the contribution made by this initiative to the employment and income generation in Inhassoro and called on the beneficiaries to make good use of the funds.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the Vice President Mozambique Country Management and Corporate Affairs, Ovi\u0301dio Rodolfo said that the beginning of the disbursement represents a very important milestone for the project to promote entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

Local Development Agreements (LDAs) are tripartite agreements between Sasol, local communities, and district governments (Govuro and Inhassoro), with the aim of aligning the priorities of the three parties under the terms of the Extractive Industry Corporate Social Responsibility Policy.<\/p>\n
