Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Members of the Rwandan Defence Force (RDF) last Friday detained three men in the district of Mocimboa da Praia, in the northern Mozambican province of Cabo Delgado, who were accused of collaborating with islamist terrorists, according to a report in Tuesday\u2019s issue of the independent newssheet \u201cMediafax\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Rwandans are close allies of the Mozambican defence and security forces. The Mozambican and Rwandan forces drove the jihadists out of Mocimboa da Praia town in 2021.<\/p>\n

Those detained on Friday have been named as A. Fuso Bakara, A. Momade Anudurabi and A. Momadi Anudurabi. They are all members of the same family.<\/p>\n

The three are said to have been involved in terrorist logistics, providing supplies to the jihadist groups. A. Bakara is allegedly the wife of a terrorist leader, from whom she received 600,000 meticais (about 9,400 US dollars, at the current exchange rate) to develop her business activities in Mocimboa da Praia.<\/p>\n

But this was supposedly just a front for her real job, which was to provide food for the terrorist gangs in the bush. She acquired these goods in Mocimboa town and elsewhere. The food was then carried to Makulo village, where the jihadists picked it up.<\/p>\n

Bukara was seized in Nazimoja village, apparently as she tried to join her husband in the bush. Her attempted escape was precipitated by the arrest of her collaborators, the two Anudurabis.<\/p>\n
