The fishermen, from Mucocuene Fishing Centre in Inhassoro district, Inhambane province, say their catch is unusual for that part of the country.<\/p>\n

The animal was sold for 8,000 meticais (around US$125 at current exchange rates), that is, for 25 meticais per kilo (US$0.39). Buyers rightfully considered this a \u201cgood-luck price\u201d.<\/p>\n

The giant grouper, going by the scientific name Epinephelus, can grow to huge size, with a maximum recorded length of 270 centimetres and a maximum published weight of 400 kilograms (880 lb).
