Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Tourism Land Management Plan for the Lu\u0301rio Waterfalls currently in preparation may help attract investment and boost tourism development in Maririne, Chiu\u0301re district, Cabo Delgado province.<\/p>\n

On April 27th, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Fredson Bacar visited the waterfalls on the Lu\u0301rio river in the town of Maririne, Chiure district, a natural attraction with enormous potential for the tourism development in the region.<\/p>\n

The cascades and falls fall within a prescribed Priority Area for Tourist Investment (APIT).<\/p>\n

In order to capitalize on the area\u2019s potential, Bacar recommended a coordinated effort involving the bodies of the State Representation Council and of the Provincial Executive Council which, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism through the Northern Delegation of the National Institute of Tourism INATUR., should initiate a technical survey.<\/p>\n

This could trigger the drawing up of a Tourism Land Management Plan to govern use of the location.<\/p>\n

The plan would define the basic support infrastructures for the development of tourism, such as access routes, type and quality of infrastructure to support tourism, and sites for accommodation, catering, leisure projects, among others.<\/p>\n

Bacar likewise challenged Cabo Delgado entrepreneurs to take the lead and be proactive in investing in their natural heritage, either individually or in partnerships.<\/p>\n
