Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Transport and Communications has banned the movement of trucks transporting ore on National Highway Number Four (N4) at rush hour, a measure that aims to prioritise road safety and reduce traffic on the section.<\/p>\n

The ministerial decree recently made public indicates that the ban applies, above all, to the Tchumene and Malhampsene section, between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. on weekdays.<\/p>\n

In parallel with this decision, measures have been introduced to manage the traffic of trucks transporting minerals from the ports of Maputo and Matola between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., while exempting vehicles carrying fuel and perishable products.<\/p>\n

To raise awareness and monitor implementation, a team has been created comprising personnel from the National Directorate of Transport, the National Institute of Road Transport (INATRO) and the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM).<\/p>\n
