Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>More than 3.2 million people in Mozambique are in a situation of acute food insecurity.<\/p>\n

According to the Executive Secretary of the Technical Secretariat for Food and Nutrition Security, the provinces of Nampula, Cabo Delgado and Zambe\u0301zia have the highest rate of food insecurity.<\/p>\n

Leonor Neves explained that the impact of the last rainy and cyclonic season could even worsen projections for the present year.<\/p>\n

Neves was talking to Radio Mozambique on the occasion of World Food Safety Day, observed annually on June 7.<\/p>\n

Leonor Neves said that food kits and agricultural inputs are currently being allocated across the country, with a view to strengthening food security in communities.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, through the Technical Secretariat for Food and Nutrition Security, recently released the 2022 Post-Harvest Food Security Report.<\/p>\n

According to the study, only 38% of the country\u2019s more than 30 million inhabitants manage to meet their minimum food needs.<\/p>\n
