Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Water supply was restored to Quelimane Central Hospital this weekend, three days after being suspended [on Wednesday, June 7] due to a debt of around 18 million meticais [around US$281,939 at current exchange rates] to the A\u0301guas da Regia\u0303o Centro company.<\/p>\n

Restoration of the water supply was the result of negotiations between hospital management and the water company. Ra\u0301dio Moc\u0327ambique reports.<\/p>\n

Anto\u0301nio Tetene, head of maintenance at Quelimane Central Hospital, said that the temporary supply cut did not cause any inconvenience, as the hospital was fully prepared for the eventuality.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe day they came to cut off the water, the tanks were full. We were also lucky that [the suspension] didn\u2019t last too long, because it was almost a day and a half and with that water [in the tanks], we could supply the hospital for four or five days, so it was fortunate for us not to have any problems here at the hospital,\u201d Tetene said.<\/p>\n
