Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The IPS Group, of which the Polytechnic University is a part, on Tuesday (13-06) signed in Maputo a memorandum of understanding with the Brazil\u2019s Dom Cabral Foundation (FDC) aimed at cooperating in the field of training Mozambican executives, businesspeople, public managers, teachers and students.<\/p>\n

The FDC is a Brazilian business school founded on August 9, 1976, with an international standard and performance in the development and training of executives. It was selected, for the 17th consecutive time, as the best business school in Latin America.<\/p>\n

Regarding the formalisation of cooperation between both institutions, the rector of the Polytechnic University, Narciso Matos, explained that the Dom Cabral Foundation is one of the ten best management schools in the world and that it had expressed interest in extending its operations to Mozambique. For this purpose, FDC had chosen Mozambique\u2019s first and largest private university, he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe memorandum of understanding we signed today is in the sense that we can begin to verify how FDC\u2019s experience can be used in training processes in Mozambique and, from there, to gradually create equal capacity in the country,\u201d dean of the \u2018A Polite\u0301cnica\u2019, Narciso Matos, said.<\/p>\n

The intention, he explained, was to collaborate with the Brazilian institution in order to jointly organise the courses, starting by enrolling Mozambican executives and students in courses offered by FDC. \u201cThe memorandum constitutes the framework that will guide cooperation between both institutions,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n

For Narciso Matos, the agreement forms part of the efforts of the Polytechnic University to establish bridges with the productive sector in Mozambique and provides the university with the opportunity to extend its activities beyond the courses it already offers in the country.<\/p>\n

In turn, the Brazilian ambassador in Mozambique, Ademar Seabra, remarked that the Polytechnic University was a benchmark for higher studies and business and technological development and innovation, making it an ideal partner for this venture with the Brazilian foundation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe FDC is not just a great business and public administration school, which would already be an extraordinary feat, an extraordinary contribution to bilateral relations between Mozambique and Brazil, in economic relations in general, academic relations and development. But the FDC also has public policy solutions. It transforms difficulties and challenges into opportunities,\u201d said the diplomat, adding that, \u201cin this cross-fertilization with Mozambique we will greatly expand our capacity to seek solutions and to find inspiration for our respective development strategies in our countries\u201d.<\/p>\n

The signing of the agreement was preceded by a round table on the theme \u201cEducation as the Basis for Economic and Business Development \u2013 The Role of Training Institutions\u201d, whose objective was to discuss the current state of training in the labour market and its sustainability in the face of the challenges of the moment.<\/p>\n
