Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Mozambican government and business sector this Wednesday kick-started the 18th Annual Private Sector Conference (CASP), which this year will have the country\u2019s industrialization as a backdrop, a statement from the Confederation of Economic Associations (CTA) of Mozambique reads.<\/p>\n

CTA informs that the event in Maputo will last three days and will be attended by more than 3,000 participants, who can also have virtual access.<\/p>\n

In addition to national and foreign businesspeople and investors, CASP will be attended by representatives of financial institutions, cooperation partners, multilateral institutions and members of the Mozambican executive.<\/p>\n

Businesspeople from Portugal are among the ten foreign delegations attending the event alongside others from Brazil, Angola, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Mauritius.<\/p>\n

The event is taking place under the motto \u2018Transformation, Innovation, Sustainability and Inclusion for Industrial Competitiveness\u2019, chosen in the context of the National Industrialize Mozambique Program (Pronai) being implemented by the Mozambican government, the CTA states.<\/p>\n

Pronai\u2019s aim is \u201cto build a modern industrial base with competitive, inclusive and sustainable capillarity, which allows for increased productivity, diversification and improvement of the trade balance\u201d.<\/p>\n

CASP will include three components: promoting public-private dialogue, promoting investment and business opportunities, plus an exhibition.<\/p>\n

In promoting public-private dialogue, topics related to Mozambique\u2019s investment climate and necessary reforms to improve the business environment will be discussed.<\/p>\n

In a strategy aimed at boosting investments and opportunities, business rooms are also planned.<\/p>\n

During the conference, projects from various sectors valued at around US$1.2 billion (over \u20ac1 billion) will be discussed.<\/p>\n

The signing of cooperation protocols and financing agreements is scheduled, as well as the launch of a fund to support the digital transformation of small and medium-sized companies (SMEs).<\/p>\n
