Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Mozambican athlete Vero\u0301nica Jose\u0301, currently residing in Portugal, has been working hard to get the minimum mark necessary for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.<\/p>\n

The long-distance runner, who still maintains links with Sporting de Portugal club, is intensifying her preparation for the competitions in which she will pursue her goal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been taking part in several competitions every week with the aim of gaining strength and being in the desired shape for the competitions that lie ahead,\u201d the athlete explained. \u201cI was recently in Maputo and won second place in the international half-marathon, and on the 10th of July I took first place in the 1,500 metres race. At this moment, I am waiting for Coach La\u0301rio to indicate other competitions in which I will participate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last year, Vero\u0301nica won the gold medal in the 1,500 metres event in Braga, Portugal, earning her participation in the prestigious World Championships in Colombia in August 2022.<\/p>\n
