Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Mozambican Tax Authority on Thursday characterised Cape Verde as \u201cvery advanced\u201d in the electronic invoicing sector and expressed its wish to implement this experience here in Mozambique.<\/p>\n

The desire was expressed to Lusa in Praia by Hugo Osvaldo Chicane, who is part of a Tax Authority (AT) of Mozambique delegation visiting Cape Verde to learn about the digital solutions implemented there.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe experience has been good, it has been profitable, in fact. Seeing things \u2018in loco\u2019 is better, and the team of trainers selected for the purpose is also meeting expectations. It is a very interesting experience. We hope to take and implement, and then afterwards perhaps invite Cape Verde to inaugurate our systems,\u201d Chicane said.<\/p>\n

As he explained, the visit of the Mozambican delegation takes place within the framework of cooperation between the two countries, after learning that Cape Verde is already implementing electronic tax revenue collection systems, one of the first in Africa to do so.<\/p>\n

\u201cCape Verde is very advanced, in fact, mainly in electronic invoices. Now, we were seeing the Standard Audit File for Tax Purposes (SAFT), but with the \u2018e-invoice\u2019, which is already working. That is what Mozambique is aiming for at the moment,\u201d Chicane stressed.<\/p>\n

\u201cMozambique, with the Tax Authority, also wants to implement these systems and saw this opportunity to come to Cape Verde to reap this experience. There is urgency in that sense. Here\u2019s the spoon,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

According to a note from the Government of Cape Verde, the AT delegation visiting Cape Verde from Tuesday to this Friday is made up of four members, one representing the fiscal machinery project, one tax regulation, one audit and tax inspection and one international cooperation.<\/p>\n

The National Directorate of State Revenue (DNRE) of Cape Verde is a department within the Ministry of Finance and Planning, which is responsible for collecting state revenue through the collection of taxes.<\/p>\n
