Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, yesterday received in audience the Executive Secretary of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), Zacarias Albano da Costa, who is on a working visit to Mozambique.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the head of state expressed his willingness to accelerate the implementation of the mobility agreement between CPLP member countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe President of the Republic said, for example, that the Portuguese and Brazilians can now enter Mozambique without a visa, but Mozambicans still need a visa to enter Portugal. It is a subject that countries will have to deepen bilaterally. We all understand that the implementation and operation of the agreements are not easy, as they require human and financial resources, but the most important thing is the awareness that we have to move a little faster to meet the expectations of our citizens,\u201d President Nyusi underlined.<\/p>\n

Zacarias da Costa said that the pace of discussions on the subject is not as fast as intended, but, according to him, it is a framework agreement that was ratified in record time of less than 15 months.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a message for our technicians and work groups so that they can work and meet more frequently and diligently so that discussions can move forward. It is a concern of all of us that the President of the Republic made a point of mentioning,\u201d the Executive Secretary of the CPLP told journalists.<\/p>\n

Zacarias da Costa explained that the agreement is currently in the second phase of implementation, in which each of the countries, according to their speed, specificities, regional and sub-regional commitments, will have to look at how they want the agreement to move forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur technicians are debating the issue of document security, but, naturally, citizens want to feel closer to the agreement, perhaps as a result of belonging to this community, which we want to be more dynamic, they expect speed to be another,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

With regard to the outbreaks of terrorism in the northern region of Cabo Delgado, the leader stated that the CPLP member states are aware of the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI take a more complete perspective of the need for us to look together at the humanitarian issue for the reintegration of people and the many needs in terms of infrastructure. I am sure that the Member States will look into the situation in order to put their efforts into this issue, which is also for all of us,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n
