Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Bank of Mozambique this Thursday (6th July) suspended, with immediate effect, Ecobank Moc\u0327ambique S.A. from the Market Operations System (SOM), namely from the Interbank Monetary Markets (MMI) and the Interbank Foreign Exchange Market (MCI).<\/p>\n

The information is contained in a note issued by the Market and Reserve Management Department of the Bank of Mozambique to institutions participating in the MMI and MCI.<\/p>\n

The note does not give any reason for the suspension, merely stating that, \u201cas a result of the suspension, Ecobank Moc\u0327ambique S.A is prohibited from participating in the MMI and the MCI\u201d.<\/p>\n

Ecobank Mozambique has four branches located in Mozambique\u2019s largest cities: two in the south of the country, one in the centre and another in the north. The bank has 118 employees.<\/p>\n
