Africa-Press<\/a> – Mozambique<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Government of Mozambique has authorised the creation of more higher education institutions in the country.<\/p>\n

In two cabinet meetings held yesterday and on last week\u2019sTuesday, the Council of Ministers approved decrees that authorise the creation of six higher education institutions, two of them universities and four polytechnics.<\/p>\n

Three such institutions were approved last week, during the Cabinet\u2019s 27th Ordinary Session, and the other three were authorised yesterday, during the 28th Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers.<\/p>\n

The first new institution announced last week is the Joaquim Alberto Chissano University of Science and Technology (UJAC), created by Edupac Solu\u00e7\u00f5es, Lda., a joint venture between Educa\u00e7\u00e3o e Comunica\u00e7\u00e3o Limitada, the Joaquim Chissano Foundation and Sim\u00e3o Manuel Nhambi, and to be installed in the KaTembe municipal district in Maputo.<\/p>\n

The second institution is the Instituto Superior Ecum\u00e9nico de Ricatla, to be headquartered in the district of Marracuene, Maputo province. The institution belongs to the United Seminary of Ricatla, an ecumenical theological education institution, created in 1958 under the auspices of the Christian Council of Mozambique.<\/p>\n

The third higher education institution announced by the Council of Ministers last week is the Instituto Superior Uni\u00e3o Geral das Cooperativas (ISUGC), headquartered in the city of Maputo. The institution is owned by the General Union of Cooperatives, which already owns a technical-professional education institution.<\/p>\n

After this Tuesday\u2019s cabinet session , government spokesman Filim\u00e3o Suazi announced the formation of the Mussa Quantu Polytechnic Institute (ISMUQ), to be built in the city of Angoche, in Nampula province. The institute will be created by the Jos\u00e9 Ibraimo Abudo Foundation, Lda., whose patron is former ombudsman Jos\u00e9 Abudo, currently dean of the controversial Mussa Bin Bique University, also in Nampula.<\/p>\n

The second institution announced yesterday is the Alberto Chipande University (UNIAC), whose headquarters will be in the city of Beira, Sofala province. The institution belongs to Globalvisa Protocols, Lda., owned by Rizuane Mubarak.<\/p>\n

Finally, the government authorised the opening of the Higher Polytechnic Institute of Engineering and Science (ISUPEC), to be headquartered in Moatize, in Tete province. The institution belongs to Grupo Marara, Lda., a consultancy and services company in the areas of corporate communication, marketing, information technology and content production.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
