Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Director General of the National Institute of Health (INS), Eduardo Samo Gudo, has been elected Chair of the Advisory Board of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).<\/p>\n

The election, endorsed by the Ministers of Health of the African member states on the 12th of this month, took place during the 6th session of the body\u2019s council in Nairobi, Kenya, last week.<\/p>\n

The Advisory Board is an important body in the Africa CDC governance structure, whose main duties include advising the Director General and issuing public health recommendations to member states.<\/p>\n

Africa CDC, headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, is the Public Health Agency of the African Union, created to support efforts by member states to prepare for and respond to public health threats across the continent<\/p>\n
