Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Attacks on cargo trucks in South Africa will have a major impact on freight costs, as well as the flow of goods into Mozambique. Transport prices may rise if the situation prevails, leading to rises in the price of products in the Mozambique market.<\/p>\n

The alert comes from the Mozambican Federation of Road Transport Associations (FEMATRO), which says it is concerned about the situation and is asking for the Mozambican and South African governments to jointly devise solutions to the problem.<\/p>\n

Speaking this week on the sidelines of the 36th General Assembly of the International Chamber of Transport Industry (CIT), FEMATRO chairman Castigo Nhamane said that if the problem prevailed, the consequences would be immediate, and have an impact on the life of ordinary Mozambicans.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe view this situation with great concern, and have communicated this to the Ministry of Transport and Communications so that the two governments can find a solution for the problem besetting transporters,\u201d Nhamane advanced.<\/p>\n
