Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Mozambique exported US$1.2 billion\u2019s worth of coal to the Indian market in the last fiscal year, consolidating the country\u2019s position as a crucial source of critical mineral resources for India.<\/p>\n

The information was provided in Maputo by the High Commissioner of India in Mozambique, Ankan Banerjee, who added that total annual bilateral trade for the 2022-23 financial year exceeded US$5 billion.<\/p>\n

According to the diplomat, bilateral trade between Mozambique and India was well balanced, with Mozambican exports in the same period amounting to around US$2.6 billion.<\/p>\n

\u201cMozambique is an important source of critical mineral resources for India and in addition to agricultural products, it supplies us with coking coal, which is essential for steel factories. It also forms a crucial source of peas, cashews and other agricultural products,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
