Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Kenya and Mozambique are set to expand their bilateral talks as President William Ruto visits the country.<\/p>\n

State House spokesperson Hussein Mohammed on Thursday revealed that President William Ruto will hold discussions with his Mozambique counterpart Filipe Nyusi during the two-day visit.<\/p>\n

The visit will mark the launch of the Kenya-Mozambique Joint Trade Committee ( JTC).<\/p>\n

“The two will focus on key sectors, including the Blue Economy and Fisheries, Trade, Defence, Agriculture, Energy, Transport and capacity building,” he said.<\/p>\n

Also during the visit, Ruto and Nyusi will oversee the signing of 8 cooperation agreements, solidifying the two countries shared commitment to collaboration.<\/p>\n

“This will also strengthen cooperation along the realm of the Indian – Swahili coast,” Hussein’s statement reads in part.<\/p>\n

The visit will also provide momentum for the Kenya-Mozambique Business Forum, which will explore mutual economic opportunities.<\/p>\n

State House Press Secretary Emmanuel Talam said Ruto left the country early in the morning for the visit.<\/p>\n

Foreign CS Alfred Mutua arrived in Mozambique on Wednesday evening ahead of the President.<\/p>\n

“I have today ( Wednesday) arrived in Maputo, Mozambique for the Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation meet and to prepare for H.E. President William Ruto’s State visit to the country,” he said.<\/p>\n

Mutua was received by his counterpart Vero\u0301nica Macamo.<\/p>\n
