Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Cuban President Miguel Di\u0301az-Canel met on with collaborators in Mozambique, representatives of solidarity movements and Cuban residents here on Saturday.<\/p>\n

At a meeting marked by feelings of love for Cuba, the president learned about the work of the more than 360 Cuban professionals who are serving here, mainly in the healthcare sector.<\/p>\n

Di\u0301az-Canel paid an official visit to Mozambique, where he arrived on Friday, as part of which he held official talks with his counterpart, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi.<\/p>\n

He was welcomed in the Assembly of the Republic, where he expressed his desire to strengthen ties between the two countries\u2019 parliaments and thanked the Mozambican legislature for accompanying the global call for the lifting of the United States economic blockade against Cuba.<\/p>\n

After the meeting, Di\u0301az-Canel went to the Heroes\u2019 Square, in the city of Maputo, where he laid a wreath on behalf of the Cuban people in homage to those who led the independence process in Mozambique and the construction of the new country after the liberation was achieved.<\/p>\n

Later, he visited to the Marcelino dos Santos clinic, a center that recalls one of the founders of the Mozambique Liberation Front (Frelimo), and where both countries carry out a project for specialized care for people with diabetes, which will soon begin to provide services.<\/p>\n

Accompanied by President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, the Cuban head of State learned that several of the experts who will work there are Cuban collaborators and others were trained in Cuba.<\/p>\n

There, experiences from Cuba\u2019s National Healthcare System associated with the treatment of diabetes will be put into practice, including the use of the Cuban drug Herberprot-P, which is used to treat diabetic foot ulcers.<\/p>\n
