Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Centre for African Studies, at Eduardo Mondlane University, is launching this Thursday, from 2h to 5 p.m., a book entitled \u201cIdentities, Memories, and Forgetfulness: 40 Years of History of the Center for African Studies\u201d.<\/p>\n

This book contains 11 chapters distributed in five parts, with contributions from former and current Centre for African Studies collaborators. The work was organised by Teresa Cruz e Silva, Ame\u0301lia Neves de Souto and Colin Darch, and Jose\u0301 Luis Cabac\u0327o signs the preface.<\/p>\n

Narciso Matos will introduce the book in a session to take place at the Anfiteatro 205 of the Complexo Pedago\u0301gico, ,in the UEM campus, and also available via Zoom \u2013<\/b> Meeting ID: 838 0294 o436; Passcode: 522 030.<\/b><\/p>\n

The presentation of the book will be followed by a round table on \u2018The Legacy of 40 years of research by the Center for African Studies and its relationship with the State\u2019, with the participation of \u2018Joaquim Chissano, former President of the Republic, Lui\u0301s Bernardo Honwana, intellectual and writer, Fernando Lima, journalist and former Chairman of Media Coop, and moderated by Luis Covane.<\/p>\n

The book launched today documents some episodes of the history of the UEM\u2019s Centre for African Studies, a renowned research institution in social sciences.<\/p>\n

The work summarizes part of the history of research in social sciences conducted at the Centre for African Studies (CEA), created in 1976 in the Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM), focusing on Mozambique and the Southern African region.<\/p>\n

The Centro de Estudos Africanos (CEA) is a multidisciplinary research center in the area of Social and Human Sciences; is an organic unit of the Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) with a multidimensional research program that includes teaching and permanent debate of ideas and the dissemination of results.<\/p>\n
