Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Delegations from Mozambique, Malawi and Zambia have been meeting in Lusaka since Monday in the Nacala Development Corridor Management Committee to discuss measures to cut the cost and time of commercial transactions, as well as improving access to transport facilities.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the parties discussed the preparation for the signing, between the three countries, of the Memorandum of Understanding on Standardisation, Quality, Accreditation and Metrology on infrastructure and regional coordination.<\/p>\n

They also assessed the level of progress in implementing the action plan drawn up at the 7th Meeting of the Tripartite Joint Management Committee of the Nacala Development Corridor (CGCDN) last March in Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi, as well as the activities planned for 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy improving regional coordination and integration, it is hoped to boost the economy of the three countries in particular, and the region in general, by strengthening regional value chains, improving access to transport infrastructure, modernising border posts and simplifying procedures to reduce transit times on the corridors\u201d, reads an official document from the meeting.<\/p>\n
