Africa-Press<\/a> – Mozambique<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Construction of a port at Chongoene, in Gaza province, designed to ensure the flow of mining production resulting from the exploitation of heavy sands in Chibuto, will begin soon.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made by the deputy director of the Chinese company [Ding Sheng] exploiting the heavy sands at Chibuto, who explained that the first version of the port would be able to receive vessels carrying up to 5,000 tons of cargo.<\/p>\n

With a view to the initiative continuing to progress smoothly, it is expected that the Mozambican government will in the next few days grant a license for the start of the project.<\/p>\n

The source noted that the project has a medium to long-term anchor plan that foresees the building of a two-kilometre long jetty to facilitate the docking of deeper-draft ships capable of carrying larger volumes of ore.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
