Thandi loves her life. She loves her beautiful son Hintsa, her witty husband Mandla, her comfortably yet challenging job with the tourism board and her best friends Nosizwe and Lauren, but she has to admit \u2013 it\u2019s hard being Superwoman in South Africa today. She tries to be the perfect traditional wife and African mother at home, the black woman who can be promoted at work and the perfect foil to her friends Benetton, a black and Xhosa, a white and English! Thandi admits defeat and decides she needs that great bourgeois South African accessory: a maid. And since she doesn\u2019t have the courage to boss a sister around in her own house, she decides that she should be a white maid.<\/p>\n
