{"id":46803,"date":"2023-09-16T19:06:00","date_gmt":"2023-09-16T19:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\/all-news\/chinas-crbc-presents-light-rail-project-for-greater-maputo"},"modified":"2023-09-16T19:59:34","modified_gmt":"2023-09-16T19:59:34","slug":"chinas-crbc-presents-light-rail-project-for-greater-maputo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\/all-news\/chinas-crbc-presents-light-rail-project-for-greater-maputo","title":{"rendered":"China\u2019s CRBC presents light rail project for Greater Maputo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The General Director of the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) has revealed that the company has already expressed to the Mozambican authorities its readiness to build a light rail system in the Greater Maputo region.<\/p>\n<p>Quoted by Noticias, Pengyu Bai said that the project, envisaging the construction of a railway line between the old Maputo International Fair (Facim) and Zimpeto, has already been presented.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe carried out the feasibility study and public consultations, and the project has now been submitted to the Government of Mozambique,\u201d said Bai, adding that he hoped to materialise the project next year.<\/p>\n<p>A construction project and a railway line to solve transport problems in Maputo was supposed to start this year, but, according to Noticias, it was postponed due to \u201ccyclical issues\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>CRBC was responsible for the construction of the Maputo-KaTembe bridge and the Maputo Circular Road.
