{"id":47304,"date":"2023-09-24T18:02:35","date_gmt":"2023-09-24T18:02:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\/all-news\/inss-covers-over-two-million-beneficiaries"},"modified":"2023-09-24T19:13:17","modified_gmt":"2023-09-24T19:13:17","slug":"inss-covers-over-two-million-beneficiaries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\/all-news\/inss-covers-over-two-million-beneficiaries","title":{"rendered":"INSS covers over two million beneficiaries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Mozambique\u2019s National Social Security Institute (INSS) now covers 2,542,000 potential beneficiaries, of whom around 45,800 are self-employed workers.<\/p>\n<p>According to a note published on Monday, on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the creation of the institution, the INSS also provides old age, sickness and widows\u2019 pensions assistance to around 121,000 people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter 34 years of existence, the system has made notable progress in various areas, including reaching more workers, especially self-employed workers\u201d, reads the note, adding that \u201cthe notable facts also include the extension of territorial coverage to more of the country\u2019s districts, and the modernisation and computerisation of services, which has made it possible to respond quickly to requests submitted by users.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The INSS has recorded 165,737 contributing companies during the last seven years, a figure that represents a 185 per cent growth. In 2015, the Institute had only 58,045 companies registered in the mandatory social security system.<\/p>\n<p>However, the INSS general labour inspector, Domingos Sambo, revealed in March that over 68,000 companies owe more than four billion meticais of contributions (62.5 million US dollars, at the current exchange rate)<\/p>\n<p>In this context, the document says, on behalf of the Government of Mozambique, the top management of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security congratulates taxpayers, beneficiaries and pensioners, as well as the social partners \u201cfor the contribution they have made to the development of the social security system in our country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\">Mozambique<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Mozambique.
