Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>TZM Resources SA, a Chinese state-owned mining company, will start exploiting heavy mineral sands in Pebane district, in the central Mozambican province of Zambe\u0301zia, as of next week.<\/p>\n

The project is budgeted at 30 million US dollars and the concession is for 15 years.<\/p>\n

According to Tuesday\u2019s issue of the Maputo daily \u201cNoti\u0301cias\u201d, citing the Administrator of Pebane District, Eduardo Vida, the company is ready to begin mining operations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe company will have two processing units. One will be at the locality of Maganha, in the Mulel administrative post, and the other one will be at Tomeia locality, in the Naburi administrative post\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

The company, he added, has informed the local government that it has already hired 50 people, who will be working at the start of the project.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe machines were installed during July and August\u201d, he said, adding that \u201cthe government has authorized the operations, since the company has guaranteed that it will observe the necessary requirements, such as public consultation and an environmental impact study.\u201d<\/p>\n
