Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>President Filipe Nyusi on Monday challenged the new Secretary of State for Sofala province to work towards the conclusion of the Demobilisation, Disarmament and Reintegration (DDR) process.<\/p>\n

The head of state posed the challenge as Ceci\u0301lia Chamutota was sworn into office after being appointed last week.<\/p>\n

During the ceremony, Filipe Nyusi pointed out some crucial areas deserving of Ceci\u0301lia Chamutota\u2019s attention, with the emphasis on the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) process.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are in the final phase of implementing Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration actions, which demands from us that we reaffirm our commitment to peace, tolerance and social coexistence,\u201d the head of state said.<\/p>\n

Nyusi also recommended that the new Secretary of State for Sofala work with experienced and competent people for the benefit of the population, since the province of Sofala is cyclically affected by the effects of climate change.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo this end, it seeks to take advantage of the existence of competent and experienced staff in the province of Sofala, from district administrators, members of the State Representation Services Council and the Provincial Executive Council and the private sector,\u201d he urged.<\/p>\n

In her response, Ceci\u0301lia Chamutota said she would count on the support of teams from all sectors in Sofala to achieve the objectives set. She noted that only with the support of all stakeholders in Sofala would she be able to achieve these goals.<\/p>\n

At the same ceremony, Minister Plenipotentiary Fernando Chomar was sworn in as Head of State Protocol, a position whose specific functions include advising and assisting the President of the Republic on protocol issues, applying the rules and practices of state protocol defined by the government or competent entities, identify and observe the rules and precepts relating to the immunities and privileges contained in the Vienna Conventions on diplomatic and consular relations.<\/p>\n
