Africa-Press<\/a> – Mozambique<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Mozambique\u2019s Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Ernesto Max Tonela, says that gold production in Mozambique is set to grow, with the entry into operation of two new gold extraction units in the provinces of Manica and Zamb\u00e9zia.<\/p>\n

Minister Tonella says that the government intends to make mineral resources one of the main contributors to the industrialisation and economic development of the country.<\/p>\n

For Max Tonela, securing more investment and greater participation of the private sector in mining is a priority.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the first half of this year, we registered an increase of around 27%, and we expect to see further growth for the year 2021. We continue to work at attracting more national and foreign investment, to better use the country\u2019s resources,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The minister also noted that measures to curb smuggling in the mining sector are being implemented.<\/p>\n

O dirigente diz que o governo pretende tornar os recursos minerais num dos principais contribuintes para a industrializa\u00e7\u00e3o e desenvolvimento econ\u00f3mico do pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n

Para Max Tonela, urge promover mais investimentos e assegurar maior participa\u00e7\u00e3o do sector privado na explora\u00e7\u00e3o mineira.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo primeiro semestre deste ano registamos um incremento na ordem de 27 % e at\u00e9 a perspectiva de crescimento que n\u00f3s esperamos para o ano 2021.
