Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>A group of Chinese investors wants to build two new terminals at the port of Beira, in Sofala province, to increase the port\u2019s capacity to handle goods, Radio Mozambique reports.<\/p>\n

The new terminals could be built on Quays Eleven and Thirteen of the port, and the project for their implementation is already in the possession of the Mozambican authorities.<\/p>\n

The investors have already been to Sofala and found that the current capacity of the port of Beira is under pressure.<\/p>\n

Radio Mozambique has learned that the group of investors represents Chinese and multinational companies that lead the African infrastructure construction market.<\/p>\n

This Sunday, Prime Minister Adriano Maleiane, during his visit to China, held a meeting with the investors, and heard from Tsingshan Holding Group\u2019s president, Xiang Guangda, a request to speed up the analysis of the project.<\/p>\n

Maleiane gave assurances that the Mozambique counterpart was taking care of the final details, so that the increase in the port\u2019s capacities could go ahead.<\/p>\n

The prime minister\u2019s visit to the People\u2019s Republic of China ends this Monday.<\/p>\n
