Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>A statement from the Mozambique Bar Association (OAM) addressed to members and signed by OAM President Carlos Martins announces that the association\u2019s headquarters were the subject of a break-in and robbery on the night of Saturday, November 4.<\/p>\n

Among other materials yet to be specified, two laptops, together with various chargers, folders and a projector, were taken.<\/p>\n

According to the statement issued at 05.11 a.m. on Sunday, the OAM says that it has already registered the break-in at the 6th Police Station with docket number 1146, and has even delivered images from security video surveillance which clearly identify the person responsible.<\/p>\n

There is also ongoing work to remediate the damage, so as to allow the continued performance of all statutory duties.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the robbery is being widely discussed on social media, including the image of the individual involved. The case is sensitive, taking place as it does at a time when the OAM has been quite blunt in its position regarding the electoral chaos that the country has been experiencing recently.<\/p>\n

At the time of writing this report, the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) in the City of Maputo had not yet commented on the robbery, or said whether it had managed to apprehend the perpetrator on the basis of the surveillance footage provided.<\/p>\n
