Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Karingani Game Reserve (KGR) is proud to announce a strategic partnership with SA College for Tourism (SACT) to benefit the youth of Massingir and Magude. This collaboration aims to establish a sustainable platform for skills training and community development, bringing together three critical elements: economic growth, social inclusion and environmental protection.<\/p>\n

The fundamental aim of this partnership is to promote vocational training in Hospitality and Conservation Tracking Skills, through a structured curriculum designed to be adaptable, adjusted to the workplace, and responsive to the needs of candidates. For the class of 2024, SACT has completed the first phase of the recruitment and selection process for 15 young women and 8 young men out of a total of 30 candidates for the Hospitality training and 16 candidates for the Conservation Tracker training at the SA College for Tourism and the Tracker Academy, respectively, in South Africa. The candidates were recruited from the Magude and Massingir regions \u2013 the areas surrounding the Karingani Game Reserve.<\/p>\n

SACT\u2019s partnership with Karingani is a testament to our mutual commitment to uplifting communities. We saw in this collaboration the power to create sustainable change by combining our knowledge and resources to enrich lives and protect nature. Together, we multiply our impact, creating a brighter future for all,\u201d says Mariette Ferreira, Executive Director of the SA College for Tourism.<\/p>\n

The comprehensive training program extends over a period of three years, with part of it taking place at the SACT campus in Graaff Reinet and the Tracker Academy training sites located at Sandringham Nature Reserve, Limpopo, and Londolozi Game Reserve in Mpumalanga, South Africa.<\/p>\n

Applications for Hospitality are open to women aged between 18 and 33, while Conservation Tracker Training is open to men aged between 21 and 31, subject to pre-established requirements.<\/p>\n

Karingani Game Reserve is dedicated to promoting the development of tourism in Mozambique and the region. This pioneering partnership with SACT, based on hospitality education, will play a key role in advancing the regional tourism industry by equipping young people with the necessary skills to seek employment in high-level hospitality services.<\/p>\n

About SACT \u2013<\/b> The SA College for Tourism (SACT) was established in 2001 by Dr Anton Rupert as a hospitality service operations skills development programme for learners from marginalized communities in South Africa and learners from similar backgrounds in other SADC member countries. In 2010, SACT introduced scouting training into its scope of training for the preservation of the indigenous art of scouting in Southern Africa which, after thousands of years, may soon be lost to future generations.<\/p>\n

About Karingani Game Reserve \u2013<\/b> The Karingani Game Reserve is a reserve recognized as an important environmental conservation area for the protection of the history and species of terrestrial mammals, situated in southern Mozambique, sharing its borders with South Africa\u2019s Kruger National Park (KNP) and Limpopo National Park (LNP). The reserve is a large surrounding area classified as one of the largest protected area systems in the world.<\/p>\n
