Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Frelimo officials on Monday (13-11) met a delegation from the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), which is in Maputo on a four-day working visit aimed at reinforcing historical relations of brotherhood and cooperation between the two political formations.<\/p>\n

Esperanc\u0327a Bias, Frelimo Political Commission member who headed the team that received the MPLA members, told a press conference that the visit was the result of the meeting of the general secretaries of the liberating parties in Luanda, capital of Angola, held to discuss issues of reciprocal interest in the political, social and economic areas.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is another opportunity for the two parties to exchange experience, particularly in the area of training, and also to develop mechanisms to make our organisations increasingly financially sustainable,\u201d Bias indicated.<\/p>\n

For her part, member of the MPLA Cadres\u2019 Political Bureau Angela Braganc\u0327a highlighted the fact that the two parties adhere strictly to the legacy of their former leaders and founders, their organisations sharing a very similar historical path.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe MPLA and Frelimo have a common history of fighting for independence. Our founding leaders left us a very strong legacy of partnership and friendship, a fact that increases our unity, and we want to continue to develop our countries within the ideals of our parties,\u201d Braganc\u0327a said.<\/p>\n
