Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Confederation of African Football Caf has concluded a historic media rights agreement with Pan-African broadcaster New World TV for Caf\u2019s competitions and events from 2023-2025.<\/p>\n

Several global broadcasters and agencies took part in a highly competitive tender process for Caf media rights which was ultimately awarded to New World TV.<\/p>\n

New World TV has previously acquired major sporting rights including the pay-TV rights across Sub-Saharan Africa for the Fifa World Cup 2022 in Qatar.<\/p>\n

The agreement between Caf and New World TV includes the rights to the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (\u201cAfcon) to be staged in Ivory Coast.<\/p>\n

The deal also presents an exciting opportunity for African football to reach new audiences in Africa and globally with an ambitious and dynamic Pan-African broadcaster.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Media Rights Agreement with New World TV is the biggest investment by a Pan-African broadcaster in Caf\u2019s history,” Caf President Patrice Motsepe said.<\/p>\n

“We are very proud to partner with such a globally competitive and innovative broadcasting company which has adapted quickly to the changing demands and viewing patterns of the modern football audience. New World TV is also introducing new ways of consuming video content through its strong partnerships with various mobile operators and its television networks.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nimonka Kolani, managing director of New World TV group said: “New World TV pays special attention to ensuring that all Africans can access their competitions at an affordable price.”<\/p>\n

“We are delighted that Caf trusts us and this opportunity given to us to be the gatekeeper of their rights will allow us to strengthen the relationship with the public through these unique moments of events organized by Caf whose attractiveness is becoming more and more important.”<\/p>\n

The new agreement with New World TV will result in significant investment by Caf in TV products and more financial investment in football development in Africa.<\/p>\n
