Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Constitutional Council did not proofread its own ruling (acorda\u0303o) and it contained mistakes in the numbers of the polling stations where voting was to happen again. In the case of Nacala Porto<\/b>, one polling station was listed three times. Not only is the CC arrogant, it is also sloppy.<\/p>\n

These are clearly just typing errors \u2013 the first duplicate is really polling station 090896-04 and the second is 090898-01. The CC ruling cannot be altered or changed, but the CNE in secret made the obvious changes.<\/p>\n

Similarly in Milange, Zambezia<\/b>, the CC called a new vote in an entirely mythical polling station \u2013 \u201cEPC Milange \u2013 Sede \u2013 080585 \u2013 10, com 800 eleitores\u201d. We assume two numbers, 1 and 0, were reversed and the correct number is 08585 \u2013 01. But nothing was said publicly.<\/p>\n

It is remarkable that in a ruling where polling station numbers are central, the CC did not proofread its own ruling, and did not check the numbers.<\/p>\n

At a press conference today (Wednesday 6 Dec), the CNE announced that the voting materials are already in the country and in the process of being transferred by air to the provinces, from where they could be sent later today to the districts whose municipalities will host the repeat elections.<\/p>\n

It is expected that by Friday all the material will be in the districts so that the process of distributing it to the polling stations can begin.<\/p>\n

The rerun process is budgeted at 41 million meticais ($640,000).<\/p>\n

The CNE says that it is in the final stages of selecting 525 Polling Station Members (MMVs), 300 of whom came from public recruitment and the remaining 225 nominated by political parties.<\/p>\n

The process of accrediting the candidate delegates is also underway, following a request from the political parties.<\/p>\n
