Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Two individuals are being detained by SERNIC (National Criminal Investigation Service) in Cabo Delgado, after being caught in possession of just over 430 kilograms of sea cucumber.<\/p>\n

One of the detainees is an employee of the district service for economic activities in Mocimba da Praia, linked to the fishing area, said SERNIC spokesperson Noemia Joao.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press in Pemba on Tuesday (05-12) morning, Joa\u0303o told reporters that the seizure occurred at the Silva Macuwa checkpoint in Ancuabe district, en route for Nampula.<\/p>\n

Joa\u0303o says this is the first time this year this type of product has been seized, and that a docket has already been sent to the public prosecutor\u2019s office for subsequent steps.<\/p>\n
