Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The head of the Association of United Mozambican Health Professionals (APSUSM), Anselmo Muchave, has filed an injunction against his colleague Hora\u0301cio Nhoca for allegedly usurping his powers.<\/p>\n

This move came a few days after Hora\u0301cio Nhoca presented himself as the spokesperson for the association, which claims to represent all health professionals, except doctors.<\/p>\n

Nhoca called a press conference to demand that APSUSM change its team negotiating with the government, allegedly because it was not meeting the expectations of its members.<\/p>\n

The injunction from Muchave, according to Friday\u2019s issue of the Maputo independent newsheet \u201cCarta de Moc\u0327ambique\u201d, was submitted to the Administrative Tribunal (AT) to annul all the information shared with the press by Hora\u0301cio Nhoca, as he does not represent the association and is not authorized to speak on its behalf in the media.<\/p>\n

\u201cHora\u0301cio is not a member of APSUSM and I don\u2019t even know him. He appeared on the television saying that he is the leader and spokesman for the association. He is not a member and doesn\u2019t sit on any of the association\u2019s bodies. Hora\u0301cio turned up to speak to the press after being agitated by individuals who aren\u2019t even part of the association. I was out of the country at the time and was startled when someone sent me a photo of him and a group of people who had gone to submit a document to the Ministry of Health on behalf of the association\u201d, Muchave explained.<\/p>\n

According to Muchave, the injunction against Hora\u0301cio is one of the ways the association has found to \u201celiminate trouble makers.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat motivated this group to go to the media is the greed for leadership, for wanting to be president, and that\u2019s why they\u2019re demanding the replacement of the president and the negotiating team. They don\u2019t even realize that the Ministry of Health doesn\u2019t answer to the association and doesn\u2019t define who should or shouldn\u2019t negotiate with the government\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
