Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Mozambican government awarded a concession to the company Renal Care in order to, under a public-private partnership, install a haemodialysis service at Quelimane Central Hospital in the capital of Zambezia province, in the centre of the country.<\/p>\n

The decision is contained in a resolution by the Council of Ministers, dated December 4th and to which Lusa had access this Friday, authorising the Minister of Health to \u201ccelebrate and sign contracts for the installation of Haemodialysis Units, in a public-private partnership model\u201d.<\/p>\n

The same resolution authorises the direct award by the Government from Mozambique to Renal Care, in order \u201cto, under a concession regime, carry out the construction, management, operation, maintenance and return of the installation of Haemodialysis Services at Quelimane Central Hospital\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a need to establish the legal basis that allows the granting, to a private entity, of the right to build, manage, operate, maintain and return Haemodialysis Units, considering the urgency and lack of these infrastructures of national strategic interest,\u201d the same resolution adds.<\/p>\n

A technical team will be created to negotiate the terms and conditions to be established by the government and the concessionaire company, in the form of a public-private partnership. This team will be made up of technicians from the Ministries of Health, Economy and Finance, Land and Environment and Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, and \u201cmust present a proposal for a concession contract and the respective decree\u201d.<\/p>\n

This team will also define the period and object of the concession, the nature of the concessionaire, the rights and obligations of the parties and the concession fees, including rents, tariff and tax regimes, among other aspects.<\/p>\n
