Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The government will at the beginning of this year create a management entity for the country\u2019s development corridors, with as its main functions coordinating and bringing together the different interests involved in this sector.<\/p>\n

According to Noti\u0301cias, the government hopes by implementing a corridor management body to add synergies and stimulate the necessary reforms to turn the corridors\u2019 potential into real productive opportunities.<\/p>\n

Speaking a few days ago in the district of Gondola, in Manica province, the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mateus Magala, expressed satisfaction with the determination of all stakeholders to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of development corridors, through the implementation of projects structuring rehabilitation, expansion and modernization of railway and port infrastructures in Maputo, Beira and Nacala.<\/p>\n

As a result of this work, Mozambican ports and railway lines are recording records in terms of cargo handling, attracting ships with deeper drafts, never before docked in the country.<\/p>\n
