{"id":53450,"date":"2024-01-05T19:44:37","date_gmt":"2024-01-05T19:44:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\/all-news\/2023-lam-passenger-numbers-to-exceed-600000"},"modified":"2024-01-05T21:00:37","modified_gmt":"2024-01-05T21:00:37","slug":"2023-lam-passenger-numbers-to-exceed-600000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\/all-news\/2023-lam-passenger-numbers-to-exceed-600000","title":{"rendered":"2023 LAM passenger numbers to exceed 600,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Linhas Ae\u0301reas de Moc\u0327ambique (Mozambique Airlines \u2013 LAM) carried more than 600,000 passengers in 2023, figures released by the Mozambican state-owned carrier on Monday (01-01) show.<\/p>\n<p>According to LAM, regional traffic grew 48% from 75,481 passengers in 2022 to 111,335 from January to November, and domestic traffic grew 2% in the same period, to 490,132 passengers.<\/p>\n<p>Globally, from January to November, LAM reports having transported 601,467 passengers, an 8% increase compared to the previous year<\/p>\n<p>LAM\u2019s best routes in 2023 were Maputo \u2013 Beira (35,352 passengers), followed by Nampula \u2013 Maputo (35,221 passengers) and Beira \u2013 Maputo (35,074 passengers).<\/p>\n<p>The company also reports having improved operational punctuality from 73% in 2022 (January to December) to 78% in 2023 (January to November).<\/p>\n<p>LAM\u2019s flight network covers 12 destinations in the domestic market plus Johannesburg, Dar-Es-Salaam, Harare, Lusaka and Cape Town regionally.
