Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Mozambican defence and security forces, supported by Rwandan troops, have pursued the terrorist groups which attacked the villages of Ntotwe and Chimbanga, in the northern province of Cabo Delgado last Wednesday and Friday, and have recovered some of the goods they stole from the local population, according to a report in Wednesday\u2019s issue of the independent newssheet \u201cMediafax\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Mozambican and Rwandan forces also recovered some military equipment which the jihadists left behind when they fled from the two villages.<\/p>\n

The Mocimboa da Praia district administrator, Sergio Domingos Cipriano, visited the villages on Tuesday to supervise the ceremony at which the recovered goods were returned to their rightful owners.<\/p>\n

Addressing the ceremony, Cipriano said that, despite constant terrorist raids, the government\u2019s priorities remained counter-attack and ensuring the security of the population.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe lament the loss of human lives, but what we are returning today is the fruit of the government\u2019s efforts to free the population from all forms of enemy malice\u201d, the administrator said, \u201cand to ensure that peace comes back to the communities\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrust in the government should be a culture in our communities\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n
