Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The self-styled \u201cIslamic State\u201d terrorist group has claimed responsibility for three attacks that occurred recently in the districts of Moci\u0301mboa da Praia and Macomia, in the northern Mozambican province of Cabo Delgado.<\/p>\n

According to a report by the independent newssheet \u201cCarta de Moc\u0327ambique\u201d, citing a statement made public by the terrorists, \u201csince the beginning of this month, terrorists have launched a global offensive called: Kill them wherever you find them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The latest Cabo Delgado attacks seem part of a wider offensive in several countries. The most spectacular of these raids was the suicide attack last Wednesday in Iran, carried out by an Afghan affiliate of \u201cIslamic State\u201d, in which 84 people were massacred.<\/p>\n

The terrorist organization claimed that on Wednesday the village of Chinda, in Moci\u0301mboa da Praia, was attacked, resulting in several injuries and the destruction of over ten houses.<\/p>\n

The second attack took place in the village of Anotadora, also in Moci\u0301mboa da Praia, where, in addition to forcing residents to flee, the terrorists burnt more than thirty huts.<\/p>\n

The third attack claimed by Islamic State took place at the Fifth Congress village, in the Chai administrative post, in Macomia district. Without giving details, the statement claimed that the terrorists attacked a position of the Mozambican Defence and Security Forces.<\/p>\n

As result of these attacks, three mini-buses were sent to rescue families from Macomia and take them back to the centres for displaced people in Ancuabe district.<\/p>\n

The latest wave of raids comes at a time when the forces of SAMIM (SADC Military Mission in Mozambique) are preparing for their demobilization, since the SAMIM mandate expires in June.<\/p>\n
