Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Following approval by the Competition Regulatory Authority, Puma Energy has now completed the acquisition of AirBP\u2019s aviation fuel assets and can operate at seven airports in Mozambique, the international energy company announced on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe acquisition will reinforce Puma Energy Aviation\u2019s presence in seven major airports in Mozambique, in line with the company\u2019s strategic ambition to concentrate growth in high-potential downstream markets through prudent investments,\u201d the company explains in a statement.<\/p>\n

All AirBP assets in Mozambique have already been transferred to Puma Energy Mozambique, meaning the company can now serve customers through facilities and equipment at the airports of Maputo, Beira, Nampula, Tete, Pemba, Quelimane and Vilankulo. Twenty-six workers have been integrated as part of the transaction.<\/p>\n

\u201cPuma Energy Aviation will continue to invest in training and equipment to ensure that Mozambique\u2019s airports continue to be among the best served in Africa. Facilities will continue to operate following the highest industry standards set by IATA [International Air Transport Association] and JIG [Joint Inspection Group], and Puma Energy remains committed to safety, reliability and efficient service,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n

For Danilo Neves Correia, general director of Puma Energy Mozambique, this transaction represents another step towards growing the company in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis acquisition will allow us to extend our offering to more aviation customers in Mozambique. Puma Energy\u2019s strategy is to focus growth in our downstream markets, including aviation, and this acquisition is an excellent example of that strategy in action\u201d , Correia says in the statement.<\/p>\n

Puma Energy describes itself as a \u201cglobal leader in energy\u201d, supplying \u201csafely across six continents\u201d, operating in fuels, aviation, lubricants and bitumen.<\/p>\n

Puma Energy Aviation, one of the group\u2019s divisions, provides aviation fuel and related technical services at more than 115 airports worldwide.<\/p>\n
