Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Judicial Court of Nampula has annulled the decision taken last November to suspend from office Mayor of Nampula Paulo Vahanle, preventing him from exercising from his political and administrative activities on the grounds of alleged incitement to collective disobedience in the context of protests against the results of elections in October, 2023.<\/p>\n

The annulment of the measure results from an appeal filed by Vahanle himself, and is based on the premise that the protests were peaceful, even if there was allegedly political provocation.<\/p>\n

The mayor said in his allegation that he did not understand the reason for the suspension of his activities.<\/p>\n

After considering the document, the court decided in Vahanle\u2019s favour, authorising him to resume his normal activities from the 12th of the current month.<\/p>\n

This Wednesday, Mayor Vahanle launched rubbish removal campaign in the city in response to residents\u2019 complaints about the state of the municipality.<\/p>\n
